At C2E2, Scott Snyder made a surprise appearance to talk about his and Greg Capullo's upcoming Dark Nights: Death Metal crossover.
Snyder showed off some interior panels for the book, which can be seen below.
The series will be a sequel to Snyder and Capullo's 2017-2018 book, Dark Nights: Metal. It will run for six issues starting in May and will include a number of various "Metalverse" tie-ins and one-shots.
According to Snyder, this is exactly the story he's been "waiting" to tell since finishing Dark Nights: Metal. When the event was announced, he said, "As much as it was a complete event, we left some threads hanging there for sure. I’d hoped that if people liked the first series enough, we’d have a chance to set up something bigger, and that’s our plan for Death Metal."
Recently, DC released a variant cover for the first issue, which featured David Finch and Steve Firchow's depiction of the Trinity's new look.
Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 is scheduled to hit stores on May 13, 2020.
