Following the announcement of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Metal sequel, Dark Nights: Death Metal, DC has released the covers and interior art for the first issue.
The main cover for Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 is by Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, FCO Plascencia; the Batman variant is illustrated by David Finch; the Superman variant is by Francesco Mattina; Stanley “Artgerm” Lau illustrated the Wonder Woman variant; and Capullo and Glapion team for the 1:100 Death Metal variant.
“I’ve been waiting to do this story since we finished Dark Nights: Metal,” Snyder said in a statement. “As much as it was a complete event, we left some threads hanging there for sure. I’d hoped that if people liked the first series enough, we’d have a chance to set up something bigger, and that’s our plan for Death Metal.”
“For all of us, Dark Nights: Death Metal is about the fun factor,” Capullo added. “Comics should be fun, bombastic, and over-the-top. This series is going to be exciting and jam-packed with great ‘metal-esque’ moments that will make fans lose their minds when they see them.”
Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 by writer Scott Snyder, artist Greg Capullo, inker Jonathan Glapion and colorist FCO Plascencia goes on sale May 13 from DC.
