DC has released new colored pages for Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia's Dark Nights: Death Metal #1, which show the return of Sgt. Frank Rock. Created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert in a 1959 issue of Our Army at War, the classic hero hasn't been seen in quite some time. During 2011's Flashpoint event, Sgt. Rock was a member of Team 7. However, he and his team died attacking a terrorist training camp. As the pages for Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 are unlettered, it's unclear just what role he might play in the upcoming story.

You can see the unlettered preview for Dark Nights: Heavy Metal #1 below alongside the solicitation information for the issue.
