The Dark Nights: Death Metal one-shot Legends of the Dark Knights has been fetching a pretty penny on eBay. The issue has been the target of several auctions, with one person paying $400. The issue is said to have a story featuring the Robin King, who writer Scott Snyder has described as "even more evil" than the Batman who Laughs. Given that first appearances tend to draw more attention, it makes sense that the Legends of the Dark Knights would go for high prices.

However, the biggest auction is still ongoing. A 1:25 variant featuring the Batman who Laughs, the Robin King, and the "Batasaurus Rex" is currently selling for $1,500 at the time of writing.

Dark Nights: Death Metal reunites Snyder with Greg Capullo. The series focuses on Wonder Woman and other DC heroes attempting to rebirth the universe after Perpetua and the Batman who Laughs twisted it in their image. The Legends of the Dark Knights will focus on a range of evil Batmen across the Dark Multiverse, including a Batman who has mastered sorcery and an evil version of Terry McGinnis.  A two-page story focusing on "Batasaurus Rex" which was written by Warren Ellis was removed from the one-shot due to allegations of sexual misconduct surrounding Ellis.

Dark Nights: Death Metal-Legends of the Dark Knights #1 goes on sale this Wednesday from DC Comics.
