The 2005 DC Comics crossover event Infinite Crisis began with a literal bang when fan-favorite superhero Ted Kord/Blue Beetle was betrayed and killed by longtime friend and associate Maxwell Lord. Kord's murder galvanized the heroes of the DC Universe into action as they faced off against Alexander Luthor from Earth-3 and Superboy-Prime in an epic adventure that resulted in the rebirth of the DC Multiverse. DC's line of Tales from the Dark Multiverse specials will now revisit and reimagine the event.

Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Infinite Crisis #1, an oversized one-shot by James Tynion IV, Aaron Lopresti and Matt Ryan, will see Kord shooting Lord instead of being killed by him, kicking off a chain of events that makes the amiable superhero the greatest threat he world has ever known.
