With an image of a roaring Bat-Rex, writer Scott Snyder announced Dark Nights: Death Metal will get some serious upgrades. Although the comic book event will be delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic's impact on the comic book industry, Snyder assured fans that the story is complete."B Rex wants you to know that DC DEATH METAL is now bigger (and better) than originally planned and while it's ready to go -- & DC is about to ship comics again -- DC has decided (wisely) to delay release a bit to make sure enough comic shops are open for for ALL you to join in," he wrote in a Tweet.RELATED: Dark Nights: Death Metal Will Change DC Continuity, Snyder Promises

Previously, Snyder announced Dark Nights: Death Metal would sort out DC's continuity. In the preview for Death Metal #1, Snyder revealed there would be many evil versions of Batman in the event and that some would be ludicrous, like the tyrannosaurus rex Batman, as captured above.

Snyder and artist Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Death Metal was originally planned for a May 13 release and its new date has yet to be announced. Snyder promised he will provide weekly updates as he learns more information and that it will release as soon as enough comic book shops are up and running.
