THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Continuing his conversation with The Los Angeles Times, director Christopher Nolan revealed the third “Begins” film will be shot in IMAX, rather than 3D. “We want the look and feel of the film to be faithful to what has come before in the first two films,” he explained. “There was a large canvas and operatic sweep to ‘The Dark Knight’ and we want to make a film that will carry on with that look and feel.” he also added, “Our ambition for the third movie is to complete a story that has begun. This is not starting over, this not rebooting. We’re finishing something, and keeping a consistency with what’s come before has real value.”
Meanwhile, Superhero Hype points to this PopcornBiz interview with composer Hanz Zimmer. Apparently, he and Nolan will be discussing his return to the series soon. “He was going to come over next week … We start early. I know he’s puttering around with ideas, and we sort of sneak up on things,” said Zimmer.
Finally, IMDB lists Tom Hardy as Detective Harvey Bullock. The have a “rumored” tag next to it,but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Anyone can update the page, so it could be wishful thinking.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
Jennifer Lawrence continues offers a little bit more info. Asked by Superhero Hype what was most appealing about the project, she replied, “It’s a prequel, and all of the characters and their relationships – they go through so much from the beginning. They change and there’s so much that happens in their lives.” She also spoke with MTV News about the film:

While discussing his various projects with The Daily Blam! Mark Millar comments on his directorial debut — reported to be about working class superheroes.. “My plan here was to start really small. Directing is something I never really thought about growing up, although I love cinema. I’ve spent so much time on film sets the last few years that I felt like as if I kind of know what I’m doing. So it’s a massive learning experience, and in case it turns out to be rubbish, I wanted to start small,” he explained. “I’m working on it now. Between now and Christmas I want to get as much done as I possibly can. Because it’s an indie movie, I can’t have three months’ shooting time and a cast of thousands. It’s all being done very low-budget. I’m just doing it in blocks of time whenever we can. I’m about a half the way through at the moment. It’s looking great – we’ve had some private screenings of what we’ve shot so far in the local cinemas. We’re all really happy with how it’s shaping up.”

THE WALKING DEAD
In case you missed it, I was a the premiere of “The Walking Dead” on Wednesday night and can now offer a complete report here at CBR. I attempted to interview some of the zombies in attendance, but they’re surprisingly tough to get a quote from. Also, there’s that whole trying to eat people thing … except they didn’t seem all that interested in me or the other reporters. Strange.
E! Online has your first look at Mad Harriet as she and Granny Goodness come to “Smallville” on the November 12th episode titled “Abandoned.”
A comedian once commented on the odd naming convention of Halloween candy. If that’s the size of fun, a full candy bar must be extacy. While I’m trying to curb my love ot Twix (and therefore fun), I encourage you all to hand out a little bit of fun over the weekend. Today’s movie is intended to be a horror movie, but is not particularly scary. It’s called “‘Manos’: The Hands of Fate.” There’s a group of satanists, a satyr bellhop, and an intensely stupid family that tries to spend the night. It’s one of the greatest bad movies ever. The movie came to prominence thanks to “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” and I suggest all “Manos” newbies watch that version first. Without some of the jokes, it can be a pretty rough ride. That said, give it a try, you’ll be glad you did. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know!
