Warner Bros. Animation has premiered the first clip from its adaptation of Batman: Year One, which will be available Oct. 18 on Blu-ray, DVD, for download and On Demand. Called "The Dinner Party," the scene will be instantly familiar to anyone who's read the acclaimed 1987 story arc by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli on which the movie is based.

Batman: Year One recounts the beginning of Bruce Wayne’s career as the Dark Knight and Jim Gordon’s with the Gotham City Police Department as the two grapple with violence, corruption and crime boss Carmine “The Roman” Falcone.

Directed by Sam Liu and Lauren Montgomery, the PG-13 film stars Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland) as Bruce Wayne, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as James Gordon, Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Selina Kyle, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Sarah Essen, and Alex Rocco (The Godfather) as Carmine Falcone. The release also includes a Catwoman short, featuring the voices of Dushku and John DiMaggio, which will be screened Oct. 16 at New York Comic Con.
