Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have set a release date for their new World of Warcraft trilogy, World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1. When the project was initialy announced, Chronicle was set to debut in November of this year. Now Dark Horse and Blizzard are splitting to the book into three volumes, the first of which debuts March 15, 2016.
“World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 is the first in a series of books that attempts to codify, tighten up, and clarify the history of Warcraft,” said Chris Metzen, Blizzard Entertainment senior vice president of story and franchise development. “People often ask why lore is important. The lore, the storytelling of Warcraft is something that we’ve really tried to work on and hone over the years as an integral part of the fantasy you’re playing through. When it catches you, it’s something you want to keep coming back to over and over.”
The arrival of this book on March 15 comes just in time for the June 10, 2016 release of the Warcraft movie. The World of Warcraft: Chronicle books will help new viewers of the film explore the mythos behind Warcraft and introduce people to the world of Azeroth for the first time.
