WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Dark Ages #3, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Marvel's Dark Ages has ushered in a devastating new era for its greatest heroes, and even though they've had nearly a decade to acclimate, this version of the Marvel Universe still has mysteries to uncover. In the case of the Fantastic Four's Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), it is the revelation in Dark Ages #3 that the family she thought lost might still be alive.

Despite of all the inherent dangers and disadvantages that come with living in a world without electricity, the world's heroes have still overcome the odds and usher in a new age of prosperity. Doing so wasn't easy, however, and the past seven years have seen some of Marvel's most iconic heroes felled. Apart from those whose lives were lost in the immediate aftermath of the Unmaker's defeat, the impending threat posed by the mutant Apocalypse has finally boiled over into an all-out assault.

When Tony Stark is kidnapped, Quicksilver is dispatched to search for the his ally in Dark Ages #3, by Tom Taylor, Iban Coello, Brian Reber and VC's Joe Sabino. The speedster returns under the influence of Killgrave's powers, which compels him to launch a deadly assault on the heroes. When he finally regains his senses, Quicksilver reveals to Sue that Apocalypse has many heroes and villains working for him, including Reed Richards.

Although the details of their disappearance haven't been revealed, Reed and Franklin Richards have been missing for several years at this point, long enough that the two of them were already presumed dead. Now that Sue knows Reed is alive, the possibility exists that her son Franklin is alive as well.

However, it appears that Reed is working for Apocalypse under his own free will, which is another mystery. The whereabouts of Franklin Richards is still unknown, and it is not beyond the realm of impossibility that he could be a captive of Apocalypse...or worse.

Whatever the circumstances behind their disappearance, the possibility of bringing Reed and Franklin back home is enough to reignite the flame within Sue. The revelation also turns out to be the motivation that the heroes need to initiate a strike against their enemy.

There is no doubt that coming face-to-face with Reed will give Sue the chance to get to the bottom of the mystery at hand. However, Dark Ages has already proven to be full of surprises, meaning that there's no guarantee that the Invisible Woman will like the answers that rest on the other side of this mystery.
