In an interview conducted prior to Marvel Television Executive Vice President Jeph Loeb's debunking of the rumor that a "Punisher" series is in the works, the man who plays Frank Castle, Jon Bernthal, said he hopes the show becomes a reality.

"We're the last to know about these things," Bernthal told Empire regarding a potential solo series run. "But this guy is burned into my heart and soul. I think about him all the time. And I look at it the same way Frank would look at it. I'm a soldier, man. If they call on me, I'll stand to attention, and I'll be ready."
