Following the cancellation of its entire Netflix slate, Marvel Television is auctioning off various props seen in such series as Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Among the items already sold is the Daredevil suit worn by Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. And the iconic red body armor was purchased by none other than former Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight.
"For those of you who don't know, they're auctioning off props from the Marvel Netflix shows today," DeKnight wrote on Twitter. "And I'm happy to report that this bad boy [the suit] is coming home to live at the offices of DeKnight Productions, where it belongs!"

DeKnight served as showrunner on Daredevil's first season, which introduced the Man Without Fear's red suit in its final episode. DeKnight was subsequently replaced as showrunner by Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, who oversaw Season 2; and Erik Oleson, who took over for the third and final season. Nevertheless, the costume clearly has a lot of sentimental value to Daredevil's original showrunner, as according to its official auction page, it set DeKnight Productions back $55,000.
As previously mentioned, the Daredevil suit -- inspired by the character's comic book attire -- first appeared in the Season 1 finale, with Matt Murdock eschewing his black "Devil of Hell's Kitchen" outfit as his campaign to bring down crime lord Wilson Fisk reached its crescendo. The red suit became a staple of Daredevil throughout Season 2, as well as the crossover miniseries The Defenders. Matt abandoned the outfit at the beginning of Season 3 and it was subsequently adopted by Ben Poindexter/Bullseye as a part of Fisk's scheme to turn New York against Daredevil. The suit has evidently found its third (and possibly final) owner in DeKnight.
Now available on Netflix, Season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, Jay Ali as Rahul “Ray” Nadeem and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
