It's been nearly a full year since we last saw Daredevil save the day on Netflix.

Apart from Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock for the crossover The Defenders, the Man Without Fear hasn't been seen since the release of Daredevil Season 2 in May 2016.. Netflix Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland explained the reason for the lengthy delay between seasons and promised the third season of Daredevil will be worth the wait.

"The biggest issue was the timing of production and launching of The Defenders because what that meant is we had to shut down all of the shows, so all the actors [would] be available," Holland told journalists during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. "There is no problem with this season [of Daredevil], I think it’s fantastic, it’s real return to form in my view."

Principal photography on Season 3 wrapped in May with new showrunner Erik Oleson (The Man from High Castle) at the helm. Rumors for the upcoming season include that the story will take inspiration from Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's classic storyline, Born Again.

It is developed for television by Drew Goddard with Erik Oleson serving as showrunner and executive producer. The series is expected to return for its third season sometime in 2018.
