Although the third season of "Daredevil" won't return to Netflix before 2018, it looks as though production will kick off later this year -- at least according to Charlie Cox, the Man Without Fear himself. The news came directly from Cox during a recent interview on Boogaloo Radio.

In light of the fact that "The Defenders" has wrapped its the first season and production is officially underway for "Jessica Jones" Season 2, Cox was asked about the third season of "Daredevil" and when we can expect filming to begin. "I do that later in the year. We’ll go back and do that," he revealed. You can hear his response for yourself around the 24-minute mark in the audio recording below.

This isn't surprising, of course. Many of the Marvel and Netflix shows have filmed simultaneously -- such as "The Punisher" and "The Defenders," with the former still filming in New York along with "Jessica Jones." Beginning production on "Daredevil" Season 3 later this year will likely assure that the show gets a 2018 release. The show could even follow the previous seasons' filming schedules, which saw production kick off in July and wrap around January for a March/April release.

At this point, not much is known about the show's upcoming third season. With "Daredevil" Season 2 tying into "The Defenders," it's unclear just what the writers have in store for the Horn Head this time around, but here's to hoping it includes more of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk.

The third season of "Daredevil" could hit Netflix as soon as next year. Prior to that, fans will be able to catch the hero in "The Defenders," which premieres August 18th and finds the Man Without Fear joining forces with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to battle The Hand.
