Marvel's The Defenders ended with The Hand defeated, but at a great cost, with Misty Knight seriously injured, and Matt Murdock seemingly dead, buried beneath tons of rubble. Although is friends, both old and new, were left to mourn his passing, the final moments of the Netflix miniseries revealed Daredevil to be alive, in a scene straight out of the seminal Marvel Comics storyline "Born Again."

The Daredevil Twitter account gives a sly nod to that inside knowledge with an animated teaser for Season 3 showing a prayer card from Matt Murdock's funeral that converts to braille. The image is accompanied by text that reads, "I'm fine. #DEFEND."

"Fine" may be a bit of an overstatement, as Murdock was last seen healing in a convent, understandably not sure of where he is. How he escaped the implosion of Midland Circle and ended up in the care of nuns (including, we presume, his estranged mother), will undoubtedly be explained in the upcoming season. Until then, this eulogy is all we have.
