Wilson Fisk spent the entirety of Daredevil Season 2 behind bars, but it appears he won't be there for much longer. Two photos from the set of Daredevil Season 3, which is currently filming in New York City, seem to show a scene that involves Fisk. One of the photos shows protesters with signs that call for the villain stay in prison.

Season 2 of Daredevil saw Fisk prove he could easily escape the prison in which he was held; after all, he controls much of Hell's Kitchen and has connections in many places. These set photos suggest he will opt to go through the legal route for freedom, though. It's likely that the antagonist will want to reclaim his control over the NYC neighborhood once more.

Fisk, otherwise known as Kingpin, has been described by actor Vincent D'onofrio as an emotional character, and those emotions will drive him in the third season. “It’s still very emotional. The character is evolving. His whole deal is based on emotion, so we’re taking him down that role further," he said in a recent interview.

D'Onofrio also teased that the upcoming season will feature scenes that are taken from the source material. “There’s some awesome things that are very much in the history of Fisk and Daredevil, that people have been waiting for,” the actor said. “We’ve already put some of that stuff in the can, and there’s a lot more to do.”

The Defenders’ closing scenes hinted that the third season of Daredevil could borrow elements from “Born Again,” the seminal story arc in which Kingpin learns Matt Murdock’s secret identity and systematically dismantles his life. Though a specific release date for Daredevil Season 3 has not been announced, the series will return in 2018.
