There might yet still be life in Daredevil as Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a reboot of the beloved series.

According to the latest issue of Production Weekly, a trustworthy industry publication dedicated to films and series that are about to begin production, Marvel Studios has a listing for a project simply described as "Daredevil reboot." The entry is filed alongside a plethora of projects already confirmed to be in development including Deadpool 3, Madame Web, Kraven the Hunter and the DCEU movie Blue Beetle. There's currently no word yet on when fans can expect to see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen return to the MCU.

While many fans of Daredevil doubted the character's future in Disney's superhero universe after the acclaimed Netflix series was canceled after three seasons, Matt Murdock's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home revealed that Marvel isn't finished with series star Charlie Cox. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that if Daredevil appears in the MCU again, Cox would reprise the role as the lawyer-turned-vigilante. Beyond this, the MCU boss did not elaborate on when the beloved character would make his triumphant return.

If the Daredevil reboot is real then fans can expect it to likely land on Disney+, the newfound home of the entire "Defenders Saga" which was previously helmed by Netflix. While some believe the reboot will restrict Daredevil to a PG-13 rating, Cox has said that he doesn't necessarily view that as a limitation. "I'm such a fan of everything they've done so far, I wouldn't underestimate them at all," Cox said. "So if they wanted to make a more PG version of Daredevil, I back them to find a way to do it where it feels totally in keeping with everything we've done. And maybe there's a little less blood, maybe there's a little whatever, but I back them to do it."

While Cox may be confirmed to return as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen in any future MCU installments, the actor is unsure of when he'll be taking up the horns again. Despite teasing that he knows "a little" of Marvel Studios' plans for Daredevil, he's still largely in the dark when it comes to the character's future. If the Production Weekly schedule turns out to be accurate, fans can likely expect some kind of official announcement in the coming months.
