There's good news for Daredevil fans, as there are only six months to go until Marvel Studios regains the rights to the Man Without Fear.

The Save Daredevil Instagram account shared a post to commemorate 18 months since Netflix pulled the plug on the show.  "Every day we’re inspired by [Matt Murdock] and Daredevil fans all over the world who are in this fight with us! We look forward to the next 6 months passing quickly toward the end of the 2 year moratorium with Netflix and with your help." The Save Daredevil campaign has racked up over 355,000 signatures in hopes of resurrecting the series.

While Daredevil ran for three seasons and went on to be one of Netflix's biggest shows, the series was culled along with the rest of the streaming service's Marvel series. Since 2018, there have been questions about whether Charlie Cox will return to the role of Daredevil or the Marvel Cinematic Universe will recast with someone new.

Following the cancelation of Daredevil, a complicated rights clause explained how none of Netflix's Marvel properties could be used until two years after their cancelation. With a whole host of shows that fell under the same umbrella, this means Luke Cage and Jessica Jones could theoretically be picked up first, followed by Iron Fist, then Daredevil toward the end of the year. Meanwhile, when it comes to Jon Bernthal's fan-favorite portrayal of Frank Castle, The Punisher's honor of being the last Netflix show to box out means he can't be touched until 2021.

Ultimately, Daredevil's cancelation has been a talking point for the past two years. Actor Amy Rutberg, who plays Marci Stahl, said the ax came as a shock considering a lot of work had already been put into Season 4. The original plan was to start shooting the next season in 2019 with an arc that would stretch into at least Season 5. Similar to Bullseye's introduction in Season 3, a fourth season was going to focus on a new antagonist, followed by a final confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) in Season 5.

That said, while D'Onofrio confirmed the cast was ready to go for another season, Cox more recently said he thinks the MCU will recast and start from scratch. With the popularity surrounding Daredevil as a character and Daredevil the series, there shouldn't be too long to wait and find out what's next for Matt Murdock.
