WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Daredevil #35, by Chip Zdarsky, Stefano Landini, Francesco Mobili, Marcio Menyz and Clayton Cowles, available now from Marvel.

The question is popped in Daredevil #35, and the answer is yes.

Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin, asks Typhoid Mary to be his wife after she saves him from an attack by a cloned Bullseye in the issue's final moments. Mary says yes, and the pair embrace. Their wedding is scheduled for Daredevil #36, the finale of writer Chip Zdarsky's transformative two-year run on Daredevil.

Kingpin asks Typhoid Mary to marry him.

Over the course of Zdarsky's tenure, the relationship between Fisk and Typhoid Mary has gradually grown from a working partnership to something genuinely romantic. Originally only employed as Fisk's bodyguard, Typhoid Mary became closer with her boss as her various personalities stabilized, particularly in the aftermath of Marvel's King in Black event, which spilled over into Daredevil #26-27 and saw Mary temporarily transformed into a symbiote. Despite their differences and previously volatile history, the Kingpin has increasingly found comfort in Mary's presence -- and on the last page of Daredevil #35, admits he's scared of losing her and needs her by his side.

While it remains to be seen whether the wedding between Fisk and Mary will proceed without incident, Zdarsky said in August that the cast of Daredevil would be irrevocably changed in Issue #36.

"I know writers like to say things like 'it's all been building toward this!!' but, really, it has," Zdarsky said at the time. "When I sat down to write issue one, I knew that this issue was waiting and that it was going to drastically alter the lives of the Daredevil cast. Issue 36 is NOT an ending, it’s a beginning."

Zdarsky's work with Daredevil will continue in January with the six-issue Devil's Reign and the three-issue Daredevil: Woman Without FearDevil's Reign tells a tale of Wilson Fisk declaring war on all superheroes throughout New York City, and the event will embroil the likes of Captain America, Spider-Man and the X-Men, spilling out into other Marvel tie-in books, including Spider-Woman and Superior Four, an upcoming title starring Doctor Octopus' own version of the Fantastic Four. Meanwhile, Daredevil: Woman Without Fear shines a spotlight on Elektra, who has been filling in for an incarcerated Matt Murdock as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

Daredevil #35, written by Zdarsky and illustrated by Stefano Landini and Francesco Mobili, is on sale now from Marvel. Issue #36, which ends the series, hits comic book shops Nov. 17.
