WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Daredevil Annual #1 by Chip Zdarsky, Manuel Garcia, Le Beau Underwood, Chris Mooneyham, Rachelle Rosenberg and VC's Clayton Cowles, available now.

Daredevil Annual #1 features the return of Matt Murdock's twin brother, Mike. Mike Murdock didn't exist prior to the year 2018, but when an Inhuman named Reader learned that Matt used to pretend he had a twin to protect his secret identity, he accidentally made him real. Now, Mike Murdock is roaming the Marvel Universe as one of the Hood's men. But when he learns that Parker Robbins has an Asgardian Norn Stone that is able to alter all of reality, Mike steals it for himself.

Mike was brought into being as an adult, but he doesn't have memories, or a past. In Daredevil Annual #1, he changes that by using the Norn Stone to insert himself into the past of Matt Murdock's life. As a result, as far as Matt is concerned, he always grew up with a twin brother. This rewriting of Marvel history is a massive change for Matt Murdock -- but it also brings about something new for another character: Wilson Fisk, formerly the Kingpin and now, the mayor of New York City.

By using the Norn Stones, Mike Murdock changes the past. Suddenly, Matt's mother didn't leave just one child to his father Jack, but two. The brothers are raised together and they go to school together, but they are ultimately very different people. Matt is an academic, while Mike is a bit of a wild card. He hustles people in the streets, whether they are neighbors or a sweet elderly lady. And as we see more of Mike's upbringing, we see him on a few occasions with a friend of his he calls Butch. Butch grew up in the same neighborhood, and he's his assistant when it comes to hustling.

However, the shocking truth about Butch comes at the end of the issue, when he reveals that he is Wilson Fisk's son.

Prior to this change, Wilson Fisk only had one son, Richard, whom he had with his then-wife, Vanessa. Richard is currently dead, but it now appears as if Wilson has another son thanks to Mike's altering of reality. Butch and Richard don't have the same mother, which means Butch could be Fisk's illegitimate son. And now that he's a fully grown adult in the present day of the Marvel Universe, Butch has an ax to grind with his father.

In fact, the end of the issue reveals Mike and Butch are still partners in crime. Worse still, they have set their sights on Wilson Fisk. Butch appears to be after what used to belong to his father, namely his criminal empire. It's therefore logical to theorize that Butch and Mike are making a play to take control of the criminal underworld of New York City. If that is indeed the case, this could create all sorts of problems for Wilson Fisk.

With Fisk serving as mayor of the city, the news that he has an illegitimate son could create a huge scandal. But the bigger question is the nature of Fisk's relationship with his son and whether or not he is even aware of Butch's existence. Whatever the answer may be, it looks like father and son could reunite very soon.
