Vincent D'Onofrio's presence as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil Season 2 may have been minor, but fans can expect him to return with a bang when Season 3 debuts next month.

“Fisk has gotten smarter, more calculated, and more manipulative,” The Netflix/Marvel series' new showrunner Erik Oleson told Entertainment Weekly. “I very much wanted to tell a story that’s relevant to the world around us. I looked at the show as a way to examine how tyrants manipulate in order to push their own agenda and cause fear and distrust.”

Although exactly how Fisk will return to wreak havoc on New York is unknown, the series is set to follow the 1986 "Born Again" storyline, where Matt lost faith in God and Kingpin outed him to break him down mentally, which seems like a natural direction for Oleson to take the villain to get his revenge. In Season 2, the villain hinted that he knew Daredevil's secret identity and actually beat him down in a prison room sit-down..
