Charlie Cox, who starred as Daredevil in Marvel's lineup of Netflix dramas, has issued a warning for anyone who dares to replace him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM's Pop Culture Spotlight podcast, Cox was asked what he would do if another actor was cast in the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil. "I would go down into my basement," Cox replied. "I would find my Daredevil mask [and then] hunt them down. I'd make them fight me for it."

Cox starred as the Man Without Fear in all three seasons of Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix, as well as in the team-up limited series Marvel's The Defenders. However, seeing as how Marvel's Netflix shows no longer appear to be canon to the MCU, Cox speculated that bringing Daredevil into the fold would mean some changes -- though he would be happy to make them work.

"If there was an opportunity for me to come back as Daredevil, whatever that would look like, I imagine it would be a reimagining of the character and the show," he said. "If they choose me to do it, there are going to be some elements that are of course the same. Or they might choose someone else and reboot it all over again. You've got to be careful what you wish for. You come back and it's not as good or it doesn't quite work or it's too much time has passed. It doesn't quite come together in the same way. You don't want to taint what you've already got. If we never come back, you've got these three great seasons and our third season was our best reviewed. So, the trajectory was up. I am tremendously proud and grateful for what we have."

As of late, there have been various rumors about where Daredevil might next appear. Cox recently denied that he's in the teaser for the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home following fan speculation that he was the man seen sporting rolled-up sleeves. "I can assure you, those are not my forearms," he said. A subsequent No Way Home trailer for IMAX showed the scene more fully -- and the actor's face -- clearing up that it isn't Cox.

Nevertheless, rumors have persisted that Cox is slated to reprise his role as Matt Murdock in No Way Home. Another rumor places Daredevil in the upcoming She-Hulk TV series for Disney+, while yet another says he will appear in Echo, a planned spinoff of Hawkeye, which are both also slated for Disney+.
