A new report gives fans a glimpse at five new characters joining the cast of Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again.

As reported by Covered Geekly, a casting grid uncovered by insider Daniel Richtman outlines a handful of recurring roles that may appear in Born Again's 18-episode debut season. The site reminds readers that the names used in the grid may be placeholders and the full details of these characters won't be known until official announcements are made by Marvel Studios or Disney.

Overall, five characters were described in the casting grid, and will either appear in Born Again as recurring guest performers or in a co-star capacity. The first character described is Derek, an Asian-American male in his late 20s/early 30s, who "works at a professional office and assists where needed." Derek will co-star in the first two episodes and may recur beyond that. Barry, a male of unspecified ethnicity who is in his 40s to early 60s, will be a recurring co-star and is described as "a slight, bookworm-ish bureaucrat who meets with a colleague."

Recurring guest performers include Angelo, an Italian-American male in his 50s to early 60s, described as "an old-school mobster type, dressed to perfection"; Alexei, a white male in his 40s with a Russian or Eastern-European background, who will "don a sweatsuit for a business meeting"; and Lorenzo, an Italian-American male in his 30s who is "a hot-headed mafia member in a more casual dress."

Who Is Confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again?

Thus far, the only characters confirmed to appear in Born Again will be Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, both reprising their roles from Netflix's Daredevil series. New cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt and Nikki M. James, although it's unknown at this time who each actor will play on screen. A rumor has suggested that Holt will be portraying Tyger Tiger, a mob boss from the criminal haven of Madripoor, but there hasn't been any official confirmation from Marvel.

According to Cox, Born Again will set itself apart from the previous series by expanding the focus on Daredevil's day job as a defense attorney. "I think because of the number of episodes they've committed to, there'll be a heavy influence of courtroom stuff — Matt Murdock the lawyer in the new show," he explained. "So I'm heavily focused on researching that area of this character and his life. It was one of the areas we didn't do a huge amount [of] exploration around before." This assertion is supported by Born Again adding real-life lawyers David Feige, Thomas Wong and Zachary Reiter to its writer's room.

Daredevil: Born Again doesn't yet have a release date. All three seasons of the previous Daredevil series are available to stream on Disney+.
