Kevin Feige announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Daredevil is coming to Disney+, with Charlie Cox returning to the role.Feige announced the series as part of Marvel's big Hall H presentation today while revealing the contents of Phase 5. One significant entry is the return of Cox's Daredevil, served in a super-sized, by MCU standards, 18-episode first season for Disney+. Vincent D'Onofrio will also return, reprising his well-received turn as Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin. Cox also makes an appearance in the upcoming She-Hulk, as revealed in a brief shot at the tail-end of the new trailer, which premiered during the showcase. It's set to start streaming in Spring 2024.RELATED: Echo Retelling Daredevil's Backstory Would Be a Mistake

This is the first of several planned appearances for both Cox in the MCU. Cox first returned to the role in a surprise cameo during Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker's lawyer and is set to continue, or rather fill in the backstory on, the relationship between the two in the upcoming animated prequel, Spider-Man: Freshmen Year. Daredevil is also set to appear in She-Hulk, seen briefly at the end of the latest trailer in a new red and yellow costume, and Echo, though his role in that has not been detailed.

D'Onofrio's Fisk also has a few upcoming appearances confirmed by Marvel. Kingpin will reportedly play some role in Echo as well, which is fitting since Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, discovered at the end of Hawkeye that he'd killed her father. That show also saw D'Onofrio's return as the character, appearing in episodes 5 and 6 of Hawkeye after a great deal of setup for his reveal. D'Onofrio recently posted images of himself looking incredibly buff, causing speculation that he might be training to reprise his role in either Echo or an at-that-time unannounced Daredevil revival.

Cox and D'Onofrio originally played the characters in Netflix's various Marvel TV series, beginning with Daredevil in 2015. The series ran for three seasons with great critical and fan acclaim, leaving many devastated by its cancelation. Cox reprised the role in 2017's Defenders, which saw an Avengers-style meeting of Netflix's slate of Marvel heroes as they worked together to take down the Hand. Whether other characters from the Netflix series, such as Jessica Jones, might make an MCU appearance in the future remains uncertain.
