Daredevil: Born Again is "deep" in pre-production, according to actor Vincent D'Onofrio.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, the star mentioned that the series is in "deep, glorious prep" while clarifying that they have not started shooting yet. Charlie Cox, who is set to star as the titular superhero, recently stated that the show is set to begin shooting around the "first quarter" of the year, around February or March.

D'Onofrio also revealed that Born Again will be different from the original Netflix show Daredevil. "Yet this is brand new and very smart. We are going to surprise everyone with it. And yes it's going to be really cool," the actor said. Cox has also predicted a different tone for the show, claiming that there will be "a heavy influence of courtroom stuff." Born Again is also adding several real-life lawyers into its writer's room, supporting Cox's claim. D'Onofrio previously promised that fans will have "no idea" what they're in store for. "During that next series, you're not going to be thinking about anything but the next episode," he said.

Daredevil's Return to Form

Born Again will see both Cox and D'Onofrio, who portray Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, square off for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will also be the first time they share the screen together since their debut in Netflix's Daredevil in 2015. Both actors instantly became fan favorites for their performances and after the show's cancelation in 2018, many fans were hoping that they would one day return.

Cox was brought into the MCU in 2021 with a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home; he later appeared in several episodes of the 2022 series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. D'Onofrio donned the Kingpin's clothes once again for 2021's Hawkeye, functioning as the show's main villain. He is also set to appear in the Hawkeye spinoff show Echo, which does not have a release date yet.
