With the working title of "Out the Kitchen," production on the upcoming Disney+ series started two months ago after five years since Netflix canceled the original series. Daredevil: Born Again was officially announced by Marvel Studios during San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Created by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the revival will see Cox reprise his fan-favorite role as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil.

Before landing an official 18-episode series order, the Stardust actor made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which he briefly appeared as Peter Parker/Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) lawyer after the friendly neighborhood hero was wrongly accused of killing Mysterio. In addition to his No Way Home appearance, Cox also guest-starred in Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he showed up in a comic-accurate red-and-yellow Daredevil suit.

During his two-episode She-Hulk arc, fans saw a new side to Matt Murdock. "I had to adapt a little bit my Matt Murdock so that he was in a place in his life where he's having fun and life is good and he's a bit cheeky and a bit flirty, and it's just, tonally, slightly different," Cox said of his performance. "And it was a bit of an experiment, but it was really enjoyable and I really had a good time."
