Every outfit that Darcy Lewis wears in WandaVision has one tiny detail in common.

In a recent interview with Marvel, Kat Dennings, who portrays Darcy, spoke about her return to the MCU -- the first time she's done so since 2013's Thor: The Dark World -- the character's development and how a personal aspect contributed to Darcy's overall appearance. She pointed out that there is a common theme in Darcy's costumes-- a theme that only "the very astute will notice," as she said. It is the incorporation of the color teal. When putting together her outfits, the costume designer for the series, Mayes Rubeo, chose to use teal to match Denning's eyes. Dennings admitted she was taken aback by the decision, calling it "the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me." The actor also called the choice to base everything off her eye color incredible and something that not many designers would even think about.

Teal is even present when Darcy becomes an escape artist in Westview after Wanda expands the Hex in episodes 6 and 7, effectively turning the S.W.O.R.D. base into a circus. Though Darcy is initially unaware of who she is -- needing Vision's powers to remember her true self -- the continued appearance of teal implies that the Hex "obviously didn't change her personality too much."

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
