Danny Trejo is going to be in another movie. That’s hardly news when you’re talking about a guy who works more and harder than many of the stars he shares the screen with. But it’s always good news.
Trejo will star with M.C. Gainey (Lost‘s Tom Friendly!) in the Syfy Original Movie Haunted High, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jeffrey Lando will direct the script from Paul A. Birkett and Anthony C. Ferrante. Trejo and Gainey will also be joined by Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel), Marc Donato (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and newcomer Jonathan Baron.
The story is set at Holloman Academy, a fictional New England private school haunted “a demonic dead headmaster,” played by Gainey. It sounds like Baron is the star, the grandson of the departed headmaster, who fights to save his school and his classmates. Donato has the role of the school’s “bad boy” while Carpenter plays “the sexy librarian.”
Then there’s Trejo, as the school janitor. Naturally, that’s just a clever facade. Trejo’s character is actually a demon-ass-kicking pro. He’ll almost certainly be the guy who trains Donato in the art of taking out the demonic headmaster, and he will just as almost certainly die horribly at some point at said demonic headmaster’s hands (claws?).
