With so many of us staying home due to the coronavirus pandemic, we could all use a little magic to lift up our spirits .

LuckilyWizarding World  asked Daniel Radcliffe to read the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone/Sorcerer’s Stone aloud for its Harry Potter at Home event. The event will see a number of famous celebrities reading the individual chapters of the book.

Other celebrities set to read future chapters of Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone, as seen by a YouTube video posted by Wizarding World, include Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni and Eddie Redmayne. Redmayne and Kim starred in the 2018 Harry Potter prequel/spinoff Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, while Dumezweni portrayed Hermione Granger in the Broadway show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Harry Potter at Home was created by Wizarding World and Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling as a way for families to enjoy the franchise and counter the boredom some may be feeling while stuck at home during COVID-19.

In addition to the video, an audio link for Radcliffe’s reading can be found on Spotify. Since there are 17 chapters, expect a few more surprise cameo readers as the audio event continues.
