Looking back on his early Harry Potter movie performances, Daniel Radcliffe isn't ashamed to confess that they feel really awkward in hindsight.

In a preview from his upcoming interview with Empire, Radcliffe talked about the impact Harry Potter had on him after playing the Boy Who Lived in cinema for a decade. "It's hard to separate my relationship with Harry from my relationship with the films as a whole," the actor noted. "I'm incredibly grateful for the experience. It showed me what I want to do with the rest of my life. To find out early on what you love is really lucky."

However, Radcliffe also admitted that his initial work as Harry doesn't hold up as much compared to later franchise entries, where he was older and more comfortable with the role. "I'm intensely embarrassed by some of my acting, obviously," he continued, " But yeah, it's like asking, 'How do you feel about your teenage years?' There's so much in there that it's almost impossible to single out one feeling."

Since his Harry Potter days, Radcliffe has gone on to star in movies like Swiss Army Man (2016), Guns Akimbo (2019) and Escape from Pretoria (2020) as well as TV roles like the 2019 series Miracle Workers and multiple Broadway shows. However, while Harry Potter has stayed alive through the Fantastic Beast movies, an upcoming video game and rumors of a live-action series, the franchise came under scrutiny in 2020 due to author J.K. Rowling's slew of anti-trans comments, which actors like Radcliffe have spoken out against.
