Despite comments he made just a few weeks ago, Daniel Radcliffe says he doesn't really want to play Robin in a Batman movie.

Speaking with MTV, the Harry Potter icon explained where his Robin comments came from, saying, "It was just another flipping thing I said."

"I was in an interview, and they asked, 'What superheroes do you want to play?' And I was like 'Um, I don't know,'" he continued. "They've already done Spider-Man, Daredevil is being done at the moment, and Flash is being turned into a TV show. So l don't know, they've all been taken, and the only one I could think of who hasn't had a recent incarnation is Robin. And then it's like, 'Dan Radcliffe Lives and Breathes in the Hopes of One Day Playing Robin!'"

For Radcliffe, coming out with the Robin comments came down to a simple decision.

"When you do interviews, you're faced with a choice, to either be the most boring person on Earth, or just get ridiculous things written about you from time to time," he said. "I get bored with myself. I hear myself being boring, so I just think, 'Just say something crazy, like you want to play a James Bond villain.'"
