Super-spy James Bond may be one of the toughest guys around, but actor Daniel Craig admitted he wasn't brave enough to face the ire of Dave Bautista after an on-set mishap during the filming of 2015's Spectre.

As a guest on The Graham Nolan Show, as reported by IndieWire, Craig described a fight scene between Bond and Bautista's Mr. Hinx, the burly chief assassin for global terror organization SPECTRE. "I threw a punch and hit him on the nose. I heard this crack and I was like, 'Oh God, no,' and ran away," Craig remembered. "I thought he was going to come after me, but he was so sweet."

Instead of retaliating, Bautista handled the injury by fixing his nose himself. "He's a lot tougher than I am. I'll give him that," Craig said.

However, things went awry for Craig after they resumed filming the scene, which called for Mr. Hinx to toss Bond into a wall. Craig encouraged Bautista not to be "gentle," and Bautista complied. Craig said, "I ended up on the wall, but my knee was over here somewhere. I knew and it was horrible because if anyone's had a serious injury, you just know in your head that something is really wrong."

Craig is currently set to appear in his final Bond film, No Time to Die. Directed by Cary Fukunaga, No Time to Die features several cast members from Craig's earlier Bond movies, as well as franchise newcomers Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas. The film opens in U.S. theaters on Oct. 8.
