Danganronpa is a popular series that started off as a single visual novel. The interesting character designs and story concept helped it stand out amongst the crowd. The first part of the series story revolved around Hope's Peak Academy and the students that went there. The series was set up as a dystopian world filled with horrors. Upon the release of Danganronpa 3, an anime conclusion of the first two games, V3 was tasked with finding a new way to tell the story. While it is structured the same with murders and trials, the game changes up some of the core plot points of the series to allow for a new generation of talented youth to take the stage. The game is much darker than the original, and the characters go farther away from having highschool esque talents like the ultimate hall monitor.

10 A Different Plot

Since the first part of the series was neatly wrapped up, V3 moved away from having students from Hope's Peak Academy and into ultimates that were more out there. Instead of focusing on luck or gaming, there is a pianist and an ultimate painter. The personality of the characters are skewed further than the other games.

In many ways, this class has an easier time killing then the ones in the first two games.

9 The First Trial

The first trial gave the series a whole new feel. You start off playing the game as the ultimate pianist Kaede as she desperately tries to ensure the killing game doesn't actually start. During Kaede's search through the school, though, she accidentally ends up dropping a ball that ends up causing her to be the murderer of the first trial.

The story is then switched over to V3's actual protagonist Shuichi.

8 More Screentime For Maki

Maki is one of the most main characters of V3 and forms a fast relationship with Kaito, who helps lead the group. Make is introduced as the ultimate child caretaker, but this is quickly taken back once she is revealed to actually be an assassin. Despite her dark talent, Maki is kind and cares for the rest of the cast.

She is also one of the reasons that Shuichi makes it to the end of the game.

7 Give The Game More Popularity

While The first story arc has a huge following, V3 is less talked about. By making an anime series, interest in the visual novel would go up, and the game would earn more sales. This would be a great way to generate more revenue to put towards the fourth game in the series that is most likely already being developed.

This would also help to make merchandise of V3 more available.

6 More Merchandise

It is no huge secret that the amount of merchandise for V3 is nowhere close to what's available for the first two games. There are statues of several of the characters, while V3 only has statues of Oma and Shuichi. There are also less small goods like keychains and towels. Which is pretty disappointing for fans.

An anime series would likely allow more products to be made and sold.

5 Introduce The New Formula

The ending of V3 is quite different from the other Danganronpa games. Instead of going into a dystopian world, the characters learn that they are actually on a TV show. As it turns out, none of them are ultimate at all, and they interviewed to be cast members, as many of them where already fans of the show.

Everything about them is fabricated, and they lost their memories on purpose.

4 Give Life to The Dialogue

As with is the case with most visual novels, V3 is a game that relies on reading more than animation. By having a proper anime, the game can give life to many of the scenes that are only played out by dialogue. Seeing the trials happen in an animated fashion would interesting and help add to the tension of the game.

Best of all, this would give the characters much more depth.

3 The Chapters Have a Different Feel

Instead of following the same pattern of the first two games, the chapters go a different route. They are faster based and follow a different pattern for murders. The murderers use harsher methods like piranhas to try to hide evidence, but ultimately end up getting caught during the long trial process.

This could lead to several multi-part murder and trial episodes.

2 Learning More About Oma

Ouma is a strange character and borders on being an antagonist, much like Nagito in Goodbye Despair. Oma constantly claims to be evil and even goes as far as to say he is a former murderer. As it turns out by the end of the game, though, Oma is a pretty harmless individual with a slightly useless ultimate.

It also doesn't help that Oma loves to lie constantly.

1 It Sets Up For Unlimited Sequels

At the end of the game, it's revealed that there have been a ton of televised killing games. While this would be a bit hard to use as a twist ending again, it does open up the potential for unlimited Danganronpa series. By making an anime of V3, it would open up the possibility of expanding the franchise further.

There could even be more anime-only series like Danganronpa 3.
