When the Marvel Cinematic Universe officially concludes Phase 3 with Spider-Man: Far From Home, fans will have an entire roster of new characters to look forward to. Following Disney's acquisition of Fox, Marvel now has the Fantastic Four at its disposal. Comic book writer Dan Slott -- known for his 10-year run on Amazing Spider-Man and his current work on Fantastic Four -- has a suggestion for the inevitable live-action reboot of the famous superhero family.Slott knows who he wants as the team's hotheaded teammate Johnny Storm. "Throwing out this red meat and then logging off of Twitter," he wrote before revealing his pick: "Riverdale's KJ Apa would make a great Johnny Storm."
Apa plays Archie Andrews on The CW's Riverdale. As a character, Archie does seem to share at least a few similarities with the Johnny Storm. The show's fans readily supported Slott's suggestion, as did many comic book fans. Others showed support but warned that no one will be able to play the Human Torch the way Chris Evans did in Tim Story's Fantastic Four films.
Not too long ago, Slott also tweeted his suggestion for who should play Moon Knight in future MCU films: Keanu Reeves.
Opening July 2, director Jon Wattsâ Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, JB Smoove, Jacob Batalon and Martin Starr, with Marisa Tomei and Jake Gyllenhaal.
