Electronic artist Fabricio Franzoli performed a cover of Daft Punk's "Around the World" using Tesla coils -- something that proves one of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's most derided scenes is actually possible.

The moment in question happens during the film's climactic showdown between Electro and Spidey, with the former using Tesla-like coils to battle the web-slinger to the tune of "Its-Bitsy Spider." Franzoli provided an explanation for the science behind all this to DJ Mag: "The main loud music really comes from the tesla coil sparks. They are literally playing the music due to the programmed phase, pulse width and firing frequency! So, there are no speakers, no audio/video special effects. It looks even better in person and sounds almost the same, just louder than people expect!"

Released in 2014, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was meant to lead into the spinoffs Venom and Sinister Six, in addition to The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and possibly a fourth movie. However, after the film earned middling reviews on its way to becoming the lowest-grossing live-action Spider-Man film to date, Sony scrapped those plans in favor of rebooting the character for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio has since launched a new shared universe titled Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters, which serves to differentiate movies like the upcoming Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius from the MCU's Spider-Man films.

Jamix Foxx will reprise his Amazing Spider-Man 2 role as Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, a sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home that's believed to explore a multiverse storyline. As part of that, the film will reportedly bring back multiple actors from both Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man movies, including Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin.

Andrew Garfield is similarly rumored to have closed a deal to reprise his role as The Amazing Spider-Man's Peter Parker in No Way Home. This rumor recently gained more credibility thanks to a photo of a No Way Home wrap gift supposedly given to the film's crew -- one that included a shirt with what appears to be Garfield's Spider-Man hanging upside down on it.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
