Dabel Brothers Productions, Diamond Sign Booktrade Agreement

Official Press Release

Dabel Brothers Productions has selected Diamond Book Distributors as the exclusive U.S. and non-exclusive worldwide distributor of English-language editions of its graphic novels and books to the bookstore, library, warehouse, mass merchandise, and specialty markets, as well as its exclusive worldwide distributor to the comic book specialty market.

Founded by brothers Les, Ernst, Pascal, and David, Dabel Brothers Productions began as Roaring Studios in the spring of 2002.The company saw almost immediate success with titles like Legacy and the immensely popular adaptation of the George R.R. Martin novella The Hedge Knight. After officially changing their name to "Dabel Brothers Productions" in mid-2003, the Brothers continue to publish such high-selling successes.

"The Dabel Brothers have an unmatched passion for publishing great comics," said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "We are extremely thrilled to be entering into this worthy partnership."

"Bookstore sales for the graphic novel edition of George R. R. Martin's The Hedge Knight have been tremendous," said Ernst Dabel, President and Editor-in-Chief of Dabel Brothers Production. "We feel this was largely due to the push Diamond put behind this book and the resources they employed to help retailers to develop an interest in it. We're excited to continue to work with Diamond on our next wave of fantasy adaptations, and we look forward to developing an even stronger relationship with them in the future."

Diamond's Sales Team will begin working with bookstores, book wholesalers, warehouse clubs, mass merchandisers, and libraries to place Dabel Brothers Productions' titles across the country. "The Dabel Brothers' stable of titles has been such a hit among readers," added Schanes. "We look forward to bringing those stories to an even wider audience."
