The cat is officially out of the bag: Everyone's favorite X-Men leader, Cyclops, is back.
While the release of Marvel's solicitations for March 2019 first revealed that the once-deceased Scott Summers would return to life in the pages of Uncanny X-Men -- complete with a '90s animated series-inspired costume -- we had no idea how the character would return. Well, the answers have already started to arrive in this week's Extermination #5, which ended with the surprise reveal that Cyclops was already back.
What's more, it's already been confirmed that Cyclops will reunite with longtime rival and frenemy Wolverine to lead a new team of Uncanny X-Men. This team, as we would learn, will be comprised Multiple Man, Banshee, Havok, Hope Summers and several members of the New Mutants like Magik and Wolfsbane.

We may not yet know what will lead Cyclops and Wolverine to put their differences aside and agree to fight alongside one another once again, but thanks to the cover of Uncanny X-Men #13, we have an idea of what this new mutant team's mission will consist of. If the cover is any indication, Scott and Logan's team will target some of the biggest X-Men villains. Cyclops' list of targets includes Magneto, Apocalypse, Cassandra Nova, Mr. Sinister, Mystique, Omega Red, Dark Beast, Mojo and a few others.
Clearly, this new version of the Uncanny X-Men will have quite the fight ahead of them.
