Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently confirmed the car company's new Model S sedan is enabled to play video games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 on the in-car monitor.Musk revealed the video game capabilities in a recent tweet announcing that "Plaid Model S ships next month," according to The Independent. At the time, Musk also posted a photo of the car's interior, which showed the screen located next to the steering wheel displaying a range of games -- including Fallout Shelter, Cuphead, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Musk added in a second tweet, "It can play Cyberpunk."RELATED: Immersion Is a KEY Element of Gaming - Here's Why

Musk initially teased the car's gaming capabilities in January 2020, when he tweeted, "Want to play The Witcher game on your Tesla? (you can already watch the show on Tesla Netflix theater)." More recently, Musk revealed that Tesla's Model S sedan features a 10-teraflop gaming computer, which would put the gaming hardware on par with the recently-released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Those gaming systems offer 10.28 teraflops and 12 teraflops of GPU power.

Tesla owners who have a knack for gaming can purchase playable games via the Tesla Arcade, which was first introduced in the Model 3 back in 2019. Both the first level of Cuphead and a car karaoke mode came to the company’s in-car software later that year, while Fallout Shelter was added to the cars in 2020. The new Model S also apparently has “wireless controller compatibility [which] allows gaming from any seat."

Developed by CD Projekt Red and released on Dec. 10, 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is action role-playing video game that takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. The official synopsis for the game reads,

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was also developed and published by CD Project Red and was released in 2015. Like Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 is an action role-playing game, and is based on The Witcher series of fantasy novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski. In the game, players control Geralt of Rivia -- a monster slayer for hire known as a Witcher -- who is in search of his adopted daughter.
