Since launch, CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has received a wave of complaints from consumers who purchased the game for the PlayStation 4. While the game does technically run on the last-gen console, players have experiences a number of graphical issues and crashes.

Gamers have now reported that, in an unusual move, Sony has been offering refunds to users who contact customer service, though it should be noted that the chatbots have been denying requests. Sony's customer service lines have reportedly been quick to offer refunds when users report that the crashes prevent them from progressing in the game.

CD Projekt Red has released a hotfix patch for the PS4 which fixes certain graphical issues, minimizes the risk of epileptic seizures and slightly improves performance on the console, reducing the number of crashes. Thus far this does not appear to have assuaged negative user experiences.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in Night City, a megalopolis ruled by corporations and powerful criminal organizations. Players take control of a mercenary named V, whose appearance, skills and physical mods are fully customizeable. The game features multiple endings and it is possible to complete the game without killing.

Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia and PC.
