Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red promised to get the game back on the PlayStation store as soon as possible. The company made the promise amid several launch issues that led to a massive number of refund requests on both Microsoft and Sony consoles.

The game developer released an official statement on Twitter explaining its next steps after pulling the game from online stores. "Following our discussion with PlayStation, a decision was made to temporarily suspend digital distribution of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store," the statement read.

CD Projekt Red continued to say in its statement that, "according to [its] knowledge," anyone who wants a refund can still submit a request. Along those lines, Microsoft announced the original deadline of Dec. 21 for people to submit refund requests was changed to "the foreseeable future." The developer also stated some brick and mortar stores could honor refunds beyond that date.

After bugs, glitches and performance issues were reported on the Xbox One and PS4, critics called the Cyberpunk 2077 launch a "disaster," and CD Projekt Red began offering refunds for any players who requested them. This is turn led Sony to pull the game from its online storefront. CD Projekt Red also pointed out that users who want to can still purchase physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077 at brick and mortar stores. Digital copies are still available on the Xbox One store as well.

Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red issued an official apology for the numerous Cyberpunk 2077 problems brought to its attention by gamers. Those problems focused mostly on the PS4 and Xbox One versions, though not all the complaints had to do with bugs on the last-gen consoles. Some users felt as though much-promised customization options were lacking at launch. Others talked about the game's transphobic portrayal of trans characters, also saying that CD Projekt Red only gave a token nod to the LBGTQ+ community.

CD Projekt Red released a new patch on Friday and said it plans on continuing to try and fix other bugs. A next-generation upgrade for the PS5 and Xbox Series X is planned for 2021, but a launch date has not yet been announced.
