Following widespread controversy regarding the game's performance on last-gen consoles, CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has been pulled from the PlayStation Store. Furthermore, Sony Interactive Entertainment is offering full refunds to those who used the PlayStation Store to purchase a digital copy of the game.

"SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice," a statement on the official PlayStation website reads. "Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution."

Cyberpunk 2077 launched on Dec. 10 for PC, Google Stadia, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Those playing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 soon reported a large number of graphical issues and game-breaking bugs. Developer CD Projekt Red apologized for the game's subpar performance on these platforms, promising that it would be fixing these issues and improving the "overall experience."

Additionally, players who purchased digital copies of Cyberpunk 2077 were encouraged by the developer to seek a refund from their gaming platform of choice if they were dissatisfied with the game. While both Xbox and PlayStation players have had to jump through various hoops in order to get a refund, things have proven especially difficult for the latter as a result of Sony's stricter refund policy. As such, CD Projekt Red told PlayStation players to stop asking Sony for refunds, and instead contact the developer directly, providing an email address where they could request a refund through Dec. 21.

This has culminated in Sony now offering full refunds itself and pulling the game from its digital shop. It is currently unknown if and when Cyberpunk 2077 will be reinstated to the PlayStation Store. Notably, the game was previously announced to be releasing next-gen ports for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2021.
