CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 will feature John Wick franchise star Keanu Reeves and now has an official release date.

A cinematic trailer shown at Microsoft's Xbox E3 conference teases the plot and the gritty world of Night City, California. After a betrayal and a botched job, mercenary V -- the player character -- is left for dead in a dump outside of town. That's when a character voiced and based on Keanu Reeves appears. Reeves' character has long hair and sports a cybernetic left arm. Reeves then took the stage to talk about his relationship with the developer, after which he revealed the game's release date: April 16, 2020.

CD Projekt Red is known for developing all three games in The Witcher series. The game is based on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop roleplaying game. The single-player roleplaying game will be open world and take place in a first-person perspective. Players will be able to modify V. Cyberpunk 2077 takes place across six regions in the fictional Night City.

In addition to John Wick, Reeves is known for his role as Neo in The Matrix and Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. He's also set to play Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4.
