Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a hit not just because it's a good anime, but because it does a good job of tying into the game from which its content comes. The same is true of Cyberpunk 2077 with its Edgerunners update, mixing the two nicely. Being of the same universe means it's possible to recreate characters from the series during character building. Recreating appearances may also require some mods. Lucy is one of these popular characters, and this guide will tell gamers what cyberware and build they should use in-game.

Lucy, or Lucyna Kushinada, is a netrunner and one of the main characters in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. She's much better at it than she lets on, however, due to her mysterious past. She is a cyberpunk or edgerunner, running gigs with a crew, but is also seen stealing shards from Corpos which is how she encounters David Martinez, the show's main protagonist. She focuses on hacking but has some tricks up her sleeve with pistols and the Monowire, an underrated cyberware weapon. It can be tough to balance perks, but here is a build to recreate Lucy.

The Best Cyberpunk 2077 Equipment for Lucy

Cyberpunk 2077 Arm Cyberware

Lucy's main weapon of choice is the Monowire, an arms cyberware capable of causing status effects and dismembering enemies. Its most basic model starts at the rare quality and must be purchased from a Ripperdoc. However, it will require 20 Street Cred. So until V gains some renown, they'll be sticking with pistols, Lucy's other weapon of choice. She specifically uses Unity for those feeling like going hardcore and ignoring better options.

As for cyberware, there are a number of options. All the Frontal Cortex mods except for the Mechatronic Core work well for a Lucy build, as they either assist with hacking or increase crit, which is important for the Monowire. Bionic Lungs or other stamina-increasing and recovering cyberware fits with Lucy's running and will help with using Monowires, while Microrotors increase melee attack speed, making the Monowire faster. Lynx Paws makes movement quieter as she is clearly good at stealth. While not something Lucy really has, a Sandevistan Operating System can make melee combat more fun. A good cyberdeck goes without saying for a netrunner.

The Best Attributes for Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Attributes

To recreate Lucy's skillset, players will need to focus on three attributes: Intelligence, Reflexes, and Cool. Intelligence, of course, opens up hacking perks and makes using them easier, while Reflexes and Cool greatly increase Monowire damage and give it more utility. Body will also be a useful attribute as it makes melee fighting less painful, literally, but won't see as many points as the others. The reason for having more points in Cool than in Body is that cyberware weapons typically don't get any crit bonuses on their own, which keeps their damage flat. Reflexes is needed for access to Blade perks used by the Monowire.

The Best Hacking Perks for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' Lucy

Lucy uses Breach Protocol in Trigger's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Quickhack and Breach Protocol are going to be the bread and butter for a Lucy build as she is mainly a netrunner. The main perks to take under Quickhacking will be Biosynergy, I Spy, Bloodware, Forget-Me-Not, Daisy Chain, Signal Support, Diffusion, Mnemonic, Weak Link, Anamnesis, Critical Error, and Master Ram Liberator. Subliminal Message is also good if going for a stealthier playthrough. These perks will increase RAM and RAM recovery while also increasing quickhack damage and effects.

For Breach Protocol, the perks to take are Mass Vulnerability, Mass Vulnerability: Resistances, Mass Vulnerability: Quickhacks, Total Recall, Totaler Recall, Turret Tamer, Compression, Head Start, Cloud Cache, and Advanced Datamine. These make Breach Protocol very useful, especially for stealth and melee. They can assist with quickhacks and provide some extra cash too. Big Sleep and Datamine Virtuoso can also be used here to take out cameras and gain quickhacks, but they aren't as important. With the right cyberdeck, V can become as formidable as Lucy in the digital world.

The Best Weapon Perks for Lucy

Cyberpunk 2077 Monowire

Blades is the key perk tree for the Monowire, as it's now classified as a blade weapon and is no longer affected by Body or Streetbrawler. For this tree, Sting Like a Bee, Roaring Waters, Flight of the Sparrow, Slow and Steady, Offensive Defense, Blessed Blade, Float Like a Butterfly, Shifting Sands, Judge Jury and Executioner, Death Bolt, Fiery Blast, and Dragon Strike are the best options. These will make the Monowire quick and deadly while providing stamina, health, and crit bonuses. The reason for not taking Bleed perks is that Monowires can cause bleeding on their own and other status effects through mods. Death Bolt provides better healing than Bloodlust. Regeneration in Athletics is also a must for melee combat.

Other Perks for Building Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Cold Blood Perks

The rest of the player's points will mainly be spent in Cold Blood to improve combat skills in all areas. The perks that will help this build are Cold Blood, which is needed to activate anything else in the tree, Blood Brawl, Frosty Synapses, Coolagulant, Quick Transfer, Will to Survive, Defensive Clotting, Predator, Coldest Blood, Critical Condition, Rapid Bloodflow, and Pain Is an Illusion. This will give bonuses in combat and when Quickhacking after defeating an enemy. Leftover perks should be put into Ninjutsu or Athletics for a stealthy or tougher version of Lucy.
