The CW's Naomi has added six more cast members, complete with character details for each, and a director for the pilot episode.

Deadline reported that Barry Watson of 7th Heaven fame has joined the cast of the DC superhero show as Greg, a military veteran working at the local base. Joining him will be Mouzam Makkar (The Fix) as Jennifer, his wife and a linguistics teacher at the same base. Both characters will be Naomi's adoptive parents. They'll be joined by Mary-Charles Jones (Kevin Can Wait), Aidan Gemme (Finding Neverland), Daniel Puig (The System) and Will Meyers (Bad Education). Amanda Marsalis, who's directed episodes of Umbrella AcademyWestworld and Ozark, has boarded as the director and executive producer of the pilot.

Jones will play Annabelle, Naomi’s best friend who, while supportive, questions her friend's obsession with a recent mysterious event in town. Gemme plays Jacob, Annabelle's sweet and nerdy boyfriend. Puig will play Nathan, an athlete Naomi used to date -- and who still has feelings for her. Finally, Meyers portrays Anthony, a handsome teen who is proud to be a "townie." Anthony has a crush on Naomi and will do anything to help her on her journey.

The new cast joins lead Kaci Walfall as Naomi along with Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson and Camila Moreno, who will all play small business owners in town who each have a connection to the "mysterious event" that will drive Naomi to search for answers to her past. The series will be written and executive produced by Ava DuVernay and Arrow writer Jill Blakenship. A pilot for the show was recently ordered by The CW alongside a live-action take on Powerpuff Girls.

Created by Brian Michael Bendis, Naomi McDuffie first appeared in her own series in 2019 under Bendis' Wonder Comics imprint. Described as a smart, cool and popular teen, she eventually encounters Superman, discovers her parents are from another world and joins the Young Justice team. Naomi can transform into her superhero alter ego, known simply as Naomi, to access the powers of flight, super-strength and energy manipulation.

Naomi is one of several new shows in the works as part of the ever-expanding Arrowverse. Though Black Lightning will come to an end this season, a Painkiller spinoff is being set up, with a backdoor pilot for the series airing next month. Meanwhile, Future State's Wonder Girl will also get her own series, providing the multiverse with yet another teen hero who could one day join a live-action Young Justice show.

Written by Ava DuVernay and Jill Blakenship, Naomi stars Kaci Walfall, Barry Watson, Mouzam Makkar, Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, Camila Moreno, Mary-Charles Jones, Aidan Gemme, Daniel Puig and Will Meyers. The pilot will air on The CW during the 2021-2022 television season.
