The CW has announced its pickup of five new series, in addition to the renewal of the Vertigo Comics-based iZombie for a fifth season.

Developed by Veronica Mars' Rob Thomas, iZombie has held modest ratings while establishing a diehard fan-base. Loosely based on the DC/Vertigo comic of the same name by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, iZombie tells the story of med student turned zombie Liv Moore. She eventually discovers that she assumes the personality of the people whose brains she consumes, which helps at her job at the morgue with helping cops solve crimes.

Among the new CW series are reboots of genre fare like Charmed and Roswell, the latter titled Roswell, New Mexico.

The Charmed revival was passed on last year, however it now seems 2018 is a better time for the CW to bring the reboot to the small-screen. It's described as a "fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series." Roswell, New Mexico, based on the Roswell High books by Melinda Metz, is executive produced by Julie Plec of Vampire Diaries and Originals fame.

The CW also ordered In the Dark, All American and Legacies to series.
