Gotham Knights star Misha Collins confirmed he's playing Harvey Dent in the series and not his villainous alter-ego Two-Face -- for now, at least.

Collins, best known for playing Castiel in Supernatural, teased his villainous transformation during a panel at SPN Indy Supernatural 2022. "If [the Gotham Knights pilot] gets picked up and turned into a series -- which would be really cool -- my character will be Harvey Dent for the whole first year," he said. "So I have a nice long stretch of not being two-faced. And then I become Two-Face! Yeah, I'm looking forward to it and I'll be the old person on the show!"

The CW greenlit the Gotham Knights pilot in February 2022. The network's official synopsis for the show reveals that it follows "[Batman's] rebellious adopted son [who] forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader." Director Danny Cannon unveiled the Gotham Knights logo soon after, confirming that principal photography on the pilot will kick off in April 2022.

Since then, casting announcements for the series have slowly trickled in. Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara were the first actors who officially signed on for Gotham Knights, joining the pilot as siblings Harper and Cullen Row, respectively. Also known by her crimefighting codename Bluebird, Harper Row is one of Batman's sidekicks in the comics. The live-action version of the character is described as a "blue-haired bisexual [who] is a gifted engineer." As in the source material, Cullen isn't a superhero like his sister, although he will reportedly be portrayed as a "transgender teen [who] is tired of being polite and agreeable... [and] is ready to fight his own battles."

The actors playing Carrie Kelley and Duela Dent were the next to be announced, with Olivia Rose Keegan and Navia Robinson filling the roles, respectively. Carrie Kelley is the first female incarnation of Robin, who debuted in the seminal 1986 DC miniseries The Dark Knight Returns. The CW frames her Gotham Knights counterpart as "fearless, idealistic and plucky as hell." Duela Dent is better known as The Joker's Daughter, which tracks with the show's description of her unnamed father as "the most dangerous man in Gotham."

More recently, Collins was added to the Gotham Knights roster as Harvey Dent, the dogged District Attorney destined to become Two-Face. Days later, Anna Lore was tapped to star as Stephanie Brown/Spoiler, yet another of Batman's teenage allies.

Gotham Knights does not yet have a release date.
