CW Developing New Take On Alice in Wonderland

The list of classic literature and fairy tales getting the television treatment continues to grow. According to Deadline, The CW is peering through the looking glass with a contemporary reimagining of the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland.

Called Wunderland, the drama from McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision production company centers on a young female detective in Los Angeles who discovers another world exists beneath the surface of the city. The Playboy Club creator Chad Hodge will write the pilot and executive produce alongside McG and Peter Johnson.

The project, which has been given a script order, follows such similarly themed dramas as ABC's Once Upon a Time, The CW's new Beauty and the Beast, and the planned Sleepy Hollow.
