Spring 2020 kicks off soon as fans have new titles to look forward too. With the big series, Re:Zero, getting delayed, its time to look for some other options. While we may not have the debate between Rem and Emilia, here are some other series hoping to get the same amount of attention.

All the anime on this list have some type of romance aspect in their respected series. This list is constrained to anime that start airing in the spring 2020 season, and not anime continuing into it. Be sure to check out all the anime that seem interesting.

10 Not Excited: Artea

Kicking off the list is Arte. The series follows Arte and her family in Florence during the Renaissance time period. As her name implies, Arte enjoys art and wants to become an artist. Being of upper class and female, its not common for girls to become an artist at the time. Arte leaves home and meets Leo, a painter and sets off on her quest to become an artist. Arte will be adapted by studio Seven Arcs.

9 Excited: SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy 3

Hachiman Hikigaya My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy returns for its third season. Hachiman Hikigaya, Yui Yuigahama, and Yukino Yukinoshita look to bring smiles to our faces with their creative solutions. The trio are members of the Volunteer Service Club and help students with issues they may have.

Most of the solutions the club comes up with aren’t in line with school standards. SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy 3 will be adapted by studio Feel.

8 Not Excited: Wave, Listen to Me!

Wave, Listen to Me! follows heroine Minare Koda, a girl in a rough spot in life. After getting drunk, Minare confesses her sorrows to a radio broadcaster who airs her life over the radio. Upset, she gives the radio station a visit where she meets Kanetsugu Matou, the station director. He sees promise in Minare and works to turn her into a colorful radio broadcaster. Minare now lives a new life that she must adjust to. Wave, Listen to Me! will be adapted by studio Sunrise.

7 Excited: Given (Film)

Given’s film is a sequel to Given from the summer 2019 season. Now introduced into the band Mafuyu Satou and Ritsuka Uenoyama look to develop their relationship even farther. Mafuyu has trauma from his past and has trouble communicating how he’s feeling to Ritsuka at times.

It doesn’t help that Ritsuka isn’t very patient with him either. The two seemed to work out most of the kinks as they shared a kiss in episode nine. Given will continue to be adapted by studio Lerche on May 16, 2020.

6 Not Excited: OreYubi

Studio Magic Bus has steadily been increasing the amount of ecchi content they have adapted each season and OreYubi is their next adaptation. If the trend continues OreYubi will be an anime short containing nudity. As with shows such as XL Joushi and Araiya-san!: Her and I in a Female Bath, OreYubi will only cater to fans who enjoy plotless fan service. The series will follow Fumi Hoshiya and Sousuke Nanase as the two meet at work. Fumi gets worked up from the slightest touch from Sousuke which only enables him to push her limits.

5 Excited: Fruits Basket Second Season

Months have passed for Tooru (Also written as Toru) at the Souma household. Accepted as one of their own, Tooru has relationships with all the Soumas. The events of the second season look to bring challenges to Tooru as she will have to endure the Eternal Banquet.

As Tooru gets closer to picking her love interest, she will still have to be careful around the boys as whenever she touches one of them, they turn into their Chinese Zodiacs. Fruits Basket 2nd Season will be adapted by studio TMS Entertainment.

4 Not Excited: Troublesome Old Man, Komatta Jii-san

Troublesome Old Man, Komatta Jii-san follows the romantic love story between an elderly couple, Jii-san and Baa-san. Jii-san is a womanizer ikeman (handsome man), spending his time flirting with every woman he sees. The anime follows a series of interactions between Jii-san and Baa-san, voiced by a narrator. Troublesome Old Man, Komatta Jii-san is projected to be adapted by Kachidoki studio.

3 Excited: Sing Yesterday For Me

Sing Yesterday For Me tells the story between a university graduate and high school drop out. Rikuo Uozumi recently graduated from university but doesn’t have much motivation in life. He works at a convenience store to make a living. Haru Nonaka dropped out of high school because her school didn’t approve of her working at a bar. She has a pet crow and visits Rikuo at his convenient store.

The two dated in the past but still have feelings for each other. The situation gets even more complicated when Rikuo runs into his classmate Shinako Morinome. Sing Yesterday For Me will be adapted by studio Doga Kobo.

2 Not Excited: Oresuki: Are You the Only one who Loves Me? OVA

Oresuki: Are you the Only one who Loves Me? originally aired during the fall 2019 season. The anime is receiving an OVA episode during the spring season. The anime follows Amatsuyu Kisaragi, also known as Jouro, a second-year highschool boy.

After going on a date with student council president Sakura Akino and childhood friend Aoi Hinata, the two both reject him, proclaiming their love for his best friend Taiyou Ooga. The OVA comes as episode 13 of the series focusing on the rivalry between Jouro and Yasuo Hazuki. Oresuki: Are You the Only one who Loves Me? OVA will be released on May 23, 2020.

1 Excited: Kaguya-sama: Love is War 2

Rounding out the list is Kaguya-sama: Love is War 2. What would a romance list be without the 2019 Crunchyroll Anime Award-winning couple? The series follows Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, two tsundere characters that want each other to confess first.

The two play games and battle back and forth trying to get the other to slip up. The series grew immensely popular with its 2019 release, and the sequel looks to expand on its success. Kaguya-sama Love is War 2 will be adapted by studio A-1 Pictures.
