The job of Sorcerer Supreme certainly has its perks, including impressive accommodations, a one-of-a-kind wardrobe, and jewelry that's certain to spark conversation. However, it apparently doesn't pay all that well, leading Stephen Strange to turn to side gigs ... like birthday party magician.

Appearing Thursday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live,"! "Doctor Strange' star Benedict Cumberbatch stepped into character (and into costume) for a sketch in which the Master of the Mystic Arts makes a house call to confront "demons," who turn out to be a group of screaming kids amped up on cupcakes.

The good Doctor offers to "vanquish" them, only to be stopped by Kimmel, who prefers he instead entertain them with tricks -- conjuring a rabbit, or whatever it is that the "Mightiest Magician in the Cosmos" does. (It's right there on his Linked-In profile!) Strange is insulted, at least until he discovers there's $150 to be made. Then suddenly it's all balloon animals and banishing a rude child to a fiery other dimension. Hey, you get what you pay for.

Cumberbatch, sans the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto, also sat down for a conversation with Kimmel, where he recounted getting lost while filming in Kathmandu, and going out for coffee in New York City while dressed in full costume.

Directed Scott Derrickson, "Doctor Strange" also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. It opens Nov. 4.
