Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and American Horror Story mainstay Sarah Paulson star as O.J. Simpson and prosecutor Marcia Clark in FX's American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Created by Ryan Murphy as a companion to his hit horror anthology American Horror Story, each season of the series will focus on a true-crime story that captured the public's imagination.

Announced in October, the 10-episode first season is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s bestseller The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, and will tell the story of the trial from the perspective of the lawyers, exploring how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

Production on American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is expected to begin early next year in Los Angeles. The first two hours will be written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (The People vs. Larry Flynt, Ed Wood) and directed by Murphy.
